Week 4/52 Lost & Found
Week 4 of the 52 week project where we take one photo a week on a specific theme and I suspect the pressure is starting to get to me ;-)
One of the other folks doing the project suggested the theme as 'Lost & Found' after their dogs went missing and were found again with the help of the social networking sites.
As soon as Dave suggested the theme I knew what I wanted to do, the Pixies song 'Where is my Mind?' had started spinning around in my brain and I knew that had to be translated into a photo. The concept was always going to be having a mini me popping out of my head holding a 'where is my mind?' sign, originally though i was going to add a few textures and use a few different brushes etc to have some other stuff floating around the mini me, like musical notes, cars, kids, household items etc
The set-up was pretty simple, I took two basic head shots, ruffled up my hair for the second one and for one of the frames decided to look upwards, lo and behold that was the frame I used for 'mini me'. Lighting was with 1/2 power flash through umbrella from right hand side & the whole lot triggered with my fabulous €20 wireless triggers!
I learnt a whole lot of stuff as was editing this and really enjoyed the editing part, yup I am not afraid to say it, I love my photoshop :-)
What surprised me most was a) I have taken a photo of myself and uploaded it in a very public way & b) without my glasses and with my current (normal me) hairstyle I am the absolute spit of my older sister She-Shu (Shelagh).
